International Patent Application

Business Mission to Southern India

Cambridge September 2014


CNT took part in an extensive and very productive business mission to Southern India, organised by UKTI and the British High Commission. Numerous meetings took place between the company and Indian companies, groups of hospitals and clinics, such as the Apollo Group of Hospitals, Biocon, Tata Memorial Hospital, in Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore, as well as with key Indian stakeholders. India is one of the key markets targeted by our company. More details will be announced soon.

Exhibition at the Innovate UK 2013

London March 2013


The company has been selected to exhibit at the major innovation event in the UK, the Innovate UK 2013 organised by the Technology Strategy Board and the UKTI.

Visit to National Cancer Institute, Kiev

March 2013


Drs Mitrelias and Tselepi visitied the National Cancer Institute in Kiev, Ukraine to conduct discussions with our Ukrainian colleaugues on the clinical tests being conducted at Kiev with the first generation prototype MagThem unit. The two directors also met with the Director of the NCI, Professor Igor Schepotin.

Annual Horasis Meeting

Dr Mitrelias was invited to be a panelist in one of the key panel in the high profile Annual Meeting of Horasis. The meeting took place in Zurich as a precurson to the World Economic Forum in Davos and Dr Mitrelias spoke on Frugality and the New Economic Environment in a panel chared by the world reknowned Professor of Philosophy, Lou Marinoff.

Business Mission to United Arab Emirates and Oman

December 2012


CNT organised an extensive business mission to the United Arab Emirates and Oman. The directors of the company engaged in numerous discussions with potential partners, customers, key stakeholders as well as with investors in the region. Drs Mitrelias and Tselepi visitied companies, investor groups and goverment officials in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Muscat in Oman. In Muscat high level contacts with the Directors of the Research Council, the Inward/Outward Investment authorities, groups in the Sultan Qaboos University and with private investors (Oman Brunei Investment Company, Mafhada Investments) took place.

Global Arab Business Meeting

Dr Mitrelias and Dr Tselepi participated in the Global Arab Business meeting organised by Horasis at Ras Al Khaimh, United Arab Emirates. Dr Mitrelias chaired and organised one of the key panel boardroom dialogue sessions devoted to Technology and the Rise of Technology and Science Parks in the MENA region for Entrepreneurs.

Royal Society Grant to support International Colalborations between two Academic groups

Cambridge, November 2012


We are pleased to announce that the Royal Society has approved the proposal for funding an International Collaboration project between the Thin Film Magnetism group of the Cavendish Laboratory (the academic group, the two Directors of the company are affiliated with) and the group of Professor Valerii Orel at the National Cancer Institute, Kiev, Ukraine. Dr Mitrelias prepared the proposal together with Dr Crispin Barnes, Head of the TFM group and Professor Orel and the award is allocated to the TFM group at the University of Cambridge. The fund will cover expenses for a two year collaborative project between the two academic partners.

Dr Mitrelias and Dr Tselepi participated at the Provate Equity XL event organised at the Yale CLub in New York and presented the business proposition to numerous investors who were present at the event.

TechConnect 2012

Dr Mitrelias and Dr Tselepi participated at the TechConnct 2012 conference in Santa Clara, USA. The Directors gave two presentations and organised a company exhibition within the framework of the conference. Significant interest was generated and traction with potential customers established.

Dr Mitrelias and Dr Tselepi were invited to participate at the annual Global Russian Business meeting organised by Horasis in Luxembourg. Dr Mitrelias was a panelist speaker.

Business Mission to Brazil

Dr Mitrelias visited the Federal University of Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil and the CSEM in Belo Horizonte and has had extended discussions with key stakeholders about marketing CNT's systems in Brazil, explored funding opportunities and initiated collaborative projects between the company and the Brazilian institutions

Business mission to Peru

March and April 2012


Dr Thanos Mitrelias, CEO of Cavendish NanoTherapeutics visited several academic institutions in an extended business trip to Peru. Amongst the Institutions were: The University of San Marcos, Lima, the University of Trujillo, the National University of Santa, The University of San AUgustin, Arequipa and the Institute for Cancer in Trujillo, IREN. Dr Mitrelias gave numerous presentations to the authorities and explored the potential for establishing international collaborations.

Horasis Annual Meeting

Zurich January 24-25, 2012


Dr Thanos Mitrelias, Founding CEO of Cavendish NanoTherapeutics was invited to participate to the Annual Horasis meeting, held in Zurich to coincide with the start of Davos Economic Forum. The event was attended by over 100 business executives and offered a platform for stimulating exchange of ideas and information about the directions of world economy.

The theme of the 2012 Horasis Annual Meeting was 'Thriving on Risk'. Participants engaged in a thorough discussion on how to surviving in and making sense of the new era of risk as the periods ahead are going to be challenging and tumultuous.


World Health Care Congress Middle East

Cavendish NanoTherapeutics has been invited to participate to the 2nd World Health Care Congress Middle East. The company will be exhibiting in the "Innovations to watch" session of the event which will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in December 2011. Dr Thanos Mitrelias, CEO, said: "I am particularly pleased that we have been invited to participate to the Congress and I am grateful to the organisers for the financial support. Grant from Technology Strategy Board

Cambridge, November 2011



Cavendish NanoTherapeutics has been awarded a Development of Prototype grant from the Technology Strategy Board. Dr Thanos Mitrelias, CEO of Cavendish NanoTherapeutics commented: "We are delighted with the award of a substantial grant from TSB. The funding will enable the company to increase the number of its employees, expand its IP portfolio, equip its facilities with state of the art systems and speed up the refinement of the development of our products. The two year grant is very much appreciated since it provides non-dilutive funding that will result in speeding up the operations of the entire company and I would like to thank the TSB's officers for their assistance and guidance". The 2-year project funded by the TSB grant started on the 1st of November 2011.




Global Arab Business Meeting

Ras Al Khaimah, October 2011



Dr Mitrelias and Dr Tselepi were invited to participate to the 2nd Global Arab Business Meeting, organised by Dr Frank Richter of Horasis and the Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority. The meeting took place in the beginning of October 2011 in the United Arab Emirates and presented an opportunity to present the vision of the company to key stakeholders, business and goverment leaders from the Arab world and beyond. Dr Mitrelias was invited to be a panelist in one of the sessions, where he spoke about the elements that must be put in place to transform the region to a knowledge based economy.
